ABOUT OLIVIA

Olivia Royal is an artist from Chicago, IL. A singer, writer, and lover, Olivia combines pop/RnB melodies with a passion for fantasy. Her writing is informed by her internal world, as well as the stories and myths she devoured from a young age. Olivia Royal is a classically trained vocalist, and her unique vocal tone shines on every track.

Love is the lyrical center of many of her songs because she believes the love song to hold an underrated power in the universe. She strives to explore many different ideas within the context of a love song. Olivia creates art that serves as a reminder of how we are interconnected in ways that defy explanation. Through love songs we identify powerfully with one another. Those small moments remind us of our shared humanity and create ripple effects throughout the world.

In 2021, Olivia launched the PSYCHE, a psychic girl group. It is a girl group made up of the voices in Olivia's mind- her brain (Cassie), her heart (Isabela), and her gut (Yummy). PSYCHE is a multimedia project that fundamentally represents an exploration of identity. As a follow up to PSYCHE, Olivia transitioned to creative writing with The Diviner Sisters, an upcoming Young Adult Fantasy novel. Through The Diviner Sisters, Olivia revamps the characters from PSYCHE and uses them to examine the nature and power of creativity. In addition to these projects, Olivia continues to push, experiment, and explore with different sonic palettes in her tracks like Hot and Collateral Damage. She has become known for her versatility, artistic vision, creative direction, and commanding presence.

In addition to her prolific creativity, Olivia supports other burgeoning artists as a vocal coach. She believes that creativity is a wonderful form of resistance, self-discovery, and connection. She takes great pride in helping people access their artistic selves.
